Could be wrong, but didn’t they go into administration twice to clear all their debt after they moved into the new stadium.
I can see In October 2002, the club went into administration with debts of £30 million and broke FFP rules in 2014.
I am not sure what else they have been up to espcially with the likes of Mandaric involved.

Could we realistically have been self sustaining in the prem with better management of the club (especially under Ellis) ?
Yep. It was pretty impressive that we failed to given the TV money alone.

Our ridiculous outgoings were/are all self-inflicted. Stadium is owned and paid for.

Leicester, Burnley, Bornemouth all doing ok by just not paying huge amounts for shit players.

It’s the classic chicken and egg though, they make silly money as they are already a massive global brand. It’s way more impressive what Leicester city have done imho, yeah they spent abit of money but they’ve nailed recruitment while not having the massive advantages clubs like Liverpool and Man Utd have.

Very true. Liverpool have done it very well.
In recent years they absolutely have

As with every club there has been some dross - Carroll, Keane, Benteke, Aquilari or whatever he is called. But they’ve managed to make decent money back mainly. And then bought gems like Torres, Suarez, Robertson, Gomez, Henderson, Firminio, Mane and Salah. Plus 2 mega expensive signings

It’s not hard to attract players to Man Utd either
Aye, but they have Ed Woodward as their de facto Director of Football/Chief Scout. Appalling ran behind the scenes, which is stark contrast to Liverpool whose whole behind scenes is continually praised. Except for theirs women football team, who are seemingly neglected somewhat. I have basically paraphrased the above from one of the weekly football podcasts.

We’re agreeing

Most of the bad ones are from a while ago. Things have clearly changed on how they do things.
We’re agreeing
No anymore :D

according to this..https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2020/feb/22/liverpool-finanacial-fair-play-manchester-city-uefa

only cash they put in was for stadium..

they posted a large profit today as well so owners can have some of the cash back..

owners talk about sustainable and self sufficiency as well..

thats how a club should be run..transfers funded by revenues owners funding long term capex alone..
You talk some utter shite at times, Liverpool one of the most famous clubs in the world give ya head a shake man.

How do Barcelona do it? That’s more relevant.

I disagree. At times he talks sense. Much of the rest is utter shite.

How much did they make from The Champions league last year?
How much from The premiere league and televised games?
How much from Gate receipts and selling shirts etc?

Go and take your head for a shit man!
