Seems there was some unsavoury chanting after and during the match today. Just been on SSN. LFC fans on a variety of sites are in meltdown over it.

There was the "always the victim" chant, which I think they need to start understanding isn't about Hilsbrough. But maybe it should have been left out given the day that was in it.

There was the "Where's your famous Munich chant?" son, which is taking the piss out of Liverpool for stopping the Munich chants today because it suits them.

Then there was the "murderers" chant, which is pretty unsavoury, whatever way you look at it.

Do people think the reaction is LFC over-reacting and playing into the stereotype of whingeing scouses again, or should this stuff have just been knocked on the head for today.

In an ideal world, I reckon there would be none of these chants (though i see nowt wrong with always the victim) today. But I always expected it to happen, especially as Evra was getting booed for being a victim of racism.

I do feel today probably wasn't the time or the place. But, on the other hand people have being saying to me that we're gonna get to the stage where we can't take the piss with the scousers about anything any more.

Thoughts? I think this is a good place for the discussion, as we can probably look at it a bit mroe objectively than those involved.

Weren't some Liverpool fans ejected for making aeroplane gestures?

Any mention of the non stop booing towards Patrice Evra who was a victim of racism from a Liverpool player?

Liverpool asked for respect, yet it seems ok for their fans to boo a victim of racisim.

Idiots

The one about the Munich song is fair cop as far as I'm concerned. They've been brushing that one under the carpet while drumming up media attention towards Man Utd's unsavoury songs.

Exactly. Plenty of munich chanting reported today. As usual they will play the victim card and try to point the finger at MUFC...

The Man Utd fans are exactly right about the Munich chants, Liverpool fans didn't sing that today because it suited them.

The 'always the victim' isn't about Hillsborough, but I agree, it was best left alone today.

Murderers - again, best left alone today. But not necessarily about Hillsborough. More likely about that other event that the Liverpool fans like to forget.

None of these chants for me were taking the piss out of Hillsborough, but could easily be twisted by those looking to take offence. Which the Liverpool fans would never try to do would they?

At the end of the day, neither set of fans are angels. Liverpool have no right to call anyone though, they booed a player all game because he was racially abused by one of their players

This.

Evra was booed all afternoon, very loud earlier in the game.

They were singing about wanting Thatcher to die at our place last week. They can't have it both ways.

Always the victim, from what I've heard united left it alone until the lfc fans did aeroplane gestures.

Everyone seems to be tippy toeing around Liverpool at the minute, bravo for this thread and you lot for telling it like it is.

Liverpool fans, regardless of the outcome of the Hillborough report, are the lowest of the low in terms of scum fans.

An entire football club that are now based around self pity, jealousy of Man Utd and hatred towards everyone and everything that dares to ever tell the truth about their club.

Scum, absolute vile scum, the OTT media reaction this week has been shocking and i hope they move on next week, after all it was over 20 years ago now. Get over it ffs.

As the song statesm always the victim, it is never theirfault. Fuck LFC, f***ing horrible scum club.

"It will be our fault somehow."

"No doubt MOST will say that Collymore is a liar due to being an ex Scouser and the song was aimed at him for lying about such things because he's bitter about Liverpool losing and the press will lap it up."

They aren't doing much to prove the Man U fans wrong like :-)

As for this comment......

"The only time I was a bit angered was when they sang 'Where's your famous munich song?"

........I was pretty sure they were singing where's your famous atmosphere

Probably the same bloke that was the last caller on 606 tonight crying his eyes out about Man U fans being disrespectful.
