James Taylor really showing Ravi Bopara how to stake a claim. Captaining the side at 21 yrs old and looks like being our top scorer in both innings.

Looks about 12 mind and makes Ian Bell look like Tremlett.

I hope they dont he hasnt earned it IMO. However it wouldnt surprise me if they do based on him having a bit of experience out there and being a bowling option.

I agree and I think it would be most unfair on Taylor who has scored the runs and shown he can perform under a bit of pressure.

How many overs do these part time bowlers go through in tests anyway?, I don't think I've seen Trott bowl more than 5 overs in an innings and it's always been dross and barely worth the effort. I know the bowlers need a rest from time to time but Pietersen can bowl a few overs of off spin and he gets a good rip from the ball. It's quite frustrating how the part-time bowlers seem to deteriorate when they play for England, Bell and Trott were handy medium pacers before they came into the team, one of them doesn't bowl at all now.

Shouldn't even come into it in my opinion. We're replacing a man who averages 60 in test cricket and bats three in the team, the fact that both Trott and Bopara bowl dibbly-dobblies is completely irrelevant.

The selectors should be picking the batsman who is in the best form and scoring a ton of runs, that is most certainly not Bopara. Taylor deserves his chance, Ravi has done nothing to warrant another shot at test cricket.
