Liam Rosenior compendium thread


I like the lad and I liked his dad when he was on the telly after games. I think Chelsea is a bit too much too soon for him. But when offered CL club type wages it must be hard to turn down. A few years at Fulham, Brighton, Brentford or Bournemouth may have been a better idea after a few at one of the smaller bigger clubs like Ipswich, Soton, Norwich, Boro etc.
 
I think he is out of his depth and like someone else pointed out would have been better off at a lesser sized club. It does seem a very strange appointment given he has not achieved anything of real note yet and the fact he has been given such a long contract too is baffling. I think his issue is himself and the fact he seems to me like he is trying to re invent the wheel but with football.
 
Talks like a NASA scientist. Wears his glasses like he’s straight out of Oxford therefore he will be a great football manager. 7 year contract, I’ll be shocked if he lasts 7 months….

How often do those jobs come up for a British manager at a smaller club though?

This Chelsea lot running the show just throwing good money after bad need a wake up call heading towards the bottom half of the league if they don’t sort it out

I don't think he was all that impressive at Hull. They rightfully would have been expecting to get into the playoffs with the investment they made, so I can completely understand the sacking.

Seri, Philogene, Carvalho (for 6 months), Omur, Greaves, Tufan, Morton, Zaroury, Giles were all good to excellent players at Championship level at the time and all decent fees and/or wages.

The wage bill was one of the highest in the league when you remove the parachute payment clubs who are always operating in a different stratosphere and they only won 3 of their last 13 games despite the above to completely blow it.

It's one of those sackings that probably looked harsh, but when you dig down into it a bit more was completely understandable IMO.

To go from that to Strasbourg and then Chelsea given his body of work to that point was bonkers.
 
He reminds me of Michael Beale talks utter crap at times and needs to shut up and get results.
Comes across as a likeable bloke to be fair but I’d hate him as our gaffer

tbh he shouldn't just be sacked for that, he should do prison time.

Bet there's a few stifled giggles when hes giving team talks.....'everyone close your eyes and be the ball, respect the ball, be at one with the ballness'
