Liam Livingstone

I am Boss

Winger
Now ruled out of the rest of the series

Shame as I was very excited to see how he would fit in. Hopefully gets a chance again in New Zealand

Didn’t want to post this in the match thread and side track an exciting finish

Aye it’s a real shame I don’t think he will go to NZ but we go to india at some point

They won’t call anyone up they like such a small squad

Probably yeah but I’m not sure how you’d fit him in on NZ or English pitches, which are the next two series. You’d take Woakes or Overton every time.

India not too far away like. I just think if Leach is injured at any point they will go with Livingstone or Jacks, it sounds ridiculous but kind of makes sense when you see this game and the others like Bess and Parkinson arent like miles n miles better to justify picking a frontline.

I think Woakes might be done mind, I guess he could play in England but we have Wood and Archer and Broad this summer, and Robinson and Jimmy our 2 best bowlers. I als think Sam Curran will soon come into it.

Agree he’s probably on the decline but even so his stats in England are superb (which should translate to NZ), and he’s a great number eight.

If Stokes’ philosophy of ‘pick the best team to win the next game’ Carries on then Woakes will be close imo.

New Zealand pitches are much flatter than English ones generally even if they look really green. Woakes hasn’t really done much there in the past

I cant see it anywhere but England, I wouldnt take him to NZ myself, I think we have better. Its usually pretty flat their like.

He'd have a chance in England but theres quite a few ahead. I dont mind a few focusing on white ball tbh, Buttler, Woakes, Ali makes a decent senior trio there.

Rob Key has a big say on selection and I just remember him questioning why they kept taking him that was all when he was at sky

Depends when you play there. In 2016? When we were bowled out for 40 odd it was swinging and seaming around corners and often has in the past. Last time it was flat for the best part.

Multi format player breaks down with injury. The first of many to come as the schedules for these players are just f***ing stupid

Who was it on here who accused me of 'having a hard on' for him?

I wonder if his time has come and gone. 2017/8/9 he was absolutely dedicated to becoming a test player and was the best number 3 in the CC for a couple of seasons where we were crying out for number 3, but kept getting overlooked. Should have been an automatic pick and, IMO, had a better than average chance of making the step up.

He gave up and joined the T20 circuit and has barely played a red ball game since, such a waste of talent.
