"Their obsession will go on. It won’t ever go away. They remain deeply jealous of Newcastle the city".

Is anyone on here jealous of Newcastle the city? I can hop on a metro and be there within half an hour and I have the benefit of not living amongst Geordies. Sounds like a win/win to me.
Couldn't agree more. Plenty of good things in Sunderland - beach/promenade, nice parks, top sports facilities like the pool, puma centre, ski slope, health/racquet club, winter gardens etc etc.
And when we fancy a change, we pop on the metro. What's the problem with that ??
You never hear their businesses saying we don't want the mackems money !!

We have f***ing broke them with this plane. They are a breed of pathetic little goblins, gnashing their teeth and wringing their hands. Utterly and completely broken.

"In the last Civil war in the UK they took the opposite side. They always do. It's to be expected from a bunch of inbreds.

"We fought for King and country, they didn't."

WTF??? Someone needs to check their history.

I don't go there. It has nothing for me. If I want a drink or nice food with my girlfriend I can go to loads of places more local to where I live which are far more convenient to me.

If I'm going out with the lads it's mainly for the match which is in Sunderland. We're going out in couples next Saturday for my mates 50th, a special occasion so we're off to Durham.

Sorry if the above doesn't meet their idea of this mecca everyone aspires to go to :-)

Also add in the fact a lot of our support isn't from Sunderland and a lot of theirs isn't even from Newcastle.

My in laws are from Hebburn and support sunderland but newcastle is the "town" to them. They aren't in any way deeply jealous of the city of Newcastle and neither am I and I'm from Sunderland.
