Lessons to learn from Spurs, Chelsea and the visitors

I don't know what to expect in terms of business this summer, but having seen what 'chucking money at it' has done for Spurs, Chelsea and the visitors, I hope the club stays incredibly disciplined, even if it means a quiet summer.

Those three have a net spend of £1.5 BILLION over five seasons. And for what?

Spurs, even if they stay up, are in a hole with shockingly little quality, very few stars, very few players I'd even want in our squad.

Chelsea have all kinds of issues coming down the track when good players twist to get out of their long contracts and deadwood linger on theirs.

The visitors have blown over a hundred million on 'proven for another team' talents like Wissa with no resale value and their accounts will be ruined as a result.

Our club should be prepared to walk away from any deal at any time for any reason.

Keep prioritising the same profile that has succeeded so far (young and hungry with a dash of Champions/Europa League experience and massive potential).

Also crucial to remember (like in the Ch'ship) the current players should keep developing and improving. 26/27 Talbi could be twice the player of 25/26 Talbi after a rest and pre-season.

I hope we can all keep it together too. Not getting hung up on fees, not panicking in a subdued window. This season is the fruit of smart spending, not just... spending. Because then you end up
