Leicester - was it worth it?

Seeing your side win the Premier League and then follow up with a few seasons in Europe including a quarter final in the Champions league.

I honestly would take 20 years in the lower leagues if I could witness us achieve what they’ve done.

Some will argue long term stability trumps short term success but those memories will last a lifetime to Leicester fans, isn’t that what sport is all about?
Too f***ing right it was

You need to ask this question in 5 or 10 years. Yes it would be splendid witnessing what they have if they bounce back and that’s a big if. They could just as easily end up with another relegation or two and decades of desperate financial struggle. Not much point of wanking your cock off about past glories if you’re on the bones of your arse, mid table in the national league and getting possed off the likes of Gateshead and Yeovil week in week out.

If someone offered me a Premier League title winning season with all the joy that comes with it, immediately followed by club dissolution in the summer, i’d take that offer.

Absolutely. Premier League title, FA Cup and Charity Shield success. What a great period over 5 years. Also the great escape they pulled off the year before the premier league title.
European football etc. what an achievement from basically a small team from the midlands.

We may never see us win a meaningful trophy in our lifetime, of course it was worth it. They didn’t just fluke a cup win, but they won the league over 38 games. Can you imagine what it must’ve felt like to say you were the best team in England and get a Champions League spot.

Yes, they are now League One, but they were before they got to the Premier League in the first place. Providing the don’t go bust, they’ll be fine and will be back and they’ll have the memory of it to last a lifetime.
