Leicester - was it worth it?

I think it was a mix between losing their owner in that helicopter crash and the financial issues around King Power. I’m not sure what it would’ve taken for them to stay in the top flight, perhaps they could’ve tried to follow

That is worth it for any of us.

So aye, absolutely. They’ll always have that memory of lifting the premier league trophy.
 
100% worth it. I would snap your hands off for the 10 years they've had. They'll get promoted back to the Championship quick enough.

We dropped into L1 after years of just scraping the PL barrel, with very little to get excited about.

I'd take what Leicester have achieved and experienced. Imagine winning the PL in the fashion they did man...it was unbelievable!

They'll get back at some point, but it's written in history as the club who had no right to win a PL title, but did.
 
obviously as fan it was completely worth it. baring it mind its highly likely that in the next 5 years they'll not be in league one any more and could realistically return to the premier league just like us, coventry, leeds, sheff utd, ipswich etc... its a cycle - well a rollercoaster - and they've been to the very top and are now at the bottom for a bit

my only gripe with this if it happened to sunderland would be the effect it would have on the city in the medium term. the club, the stadium, matchdays, premier league etc.. are all playing a massive part in the resurgence of the city at the moment. imagine if we had built the new footbridge and had its grand opening in a league one game against burton albion
 
Yes, but obviously it's not a trade off and you don't get to choose. We suffered a double relegation, 4 years in League One and financial meltdown and all we had to show for it was one 10th placed finish and a cup final loss. Loads of things we could have done differently to prevent that but ultimately our future now looks brighter than it has in 25 years and if we hadn't gone through that we probably wouldn't have ended up here. Would take League One all day if we got to experience a 5000/1 Premier League win, FA Cup win and Champions League quarter final, nevermind scraping 10th under Bruce. Leicester had been outside the Premier League for 11 years anyway and already dropped down to League One in that time, it's not like an Everton sacrificing decades of stability.

As shit and soul destroying as League One was, it's still a decent level of professional football. Think there's a perception of some Premier League fans that you drop out of existence into the abyss and play the likes of Seaham Red Star and Ryhope CW as soon as you get relegated.
 
I don't think there demise has to do with winning the title, more to do with the helicopter crash that killed the current owners dad, and very poor business in the transfer market after the title

But yes it would be worth it
 
I would say, to be confirmed. I suspect they haven’t bottomed out yet and whatever that looks like will determine the “worth”

Some will argue long term stability trumps short term success but those memories will last a lifetime to Leicester fans, isn’t that what sport is all about?

What wouldn't be worth it would be breaking the bank and winning nothing.
 
Never mind Leicester. I’d swap places with N***ingh** Fo**st. Being at the foot of the table if it meant having European football. They’ve had a way better season than we have.
