Leeds forum

Was that when they signed John Charles & charged SAFC an extra quid to get in my dad ( RIP ) used to talk about that all the time he was there too
It was circa 1967 in the FA cup first replay. The second replay was at Hull where the alleged bribery took place. The Sunderland supporter presence was huge. Elland Road was terrible, still is.

There isn’t one bad comment on there. One fan saying how have they been beaten to the signature by Sunderland but we would be saying the exact same if the roles were reversed.

That’s exactly the issue that Leeds and Burnley both have. You could argue that they both have stronger squads but are now having to work with less headroom (more so Leeds due to having spent 2 years in the Championship) Ipswich are probably a good example for Sunderland when you consider their transfer activity relative to Saints and Leicester

Great question- why do you insist on calling yourselves Geordies?
Because some of us are Geordies

You guys always make me smile. I like SFC (or SaFC for the pedants) - but the amount of Leeds threads I see on here is ridiculous. Go on Leeds WACCOE site which as a % probably has as many delusional fans as there are on this one (all clubs have them btw) however I’m not sure you would find any thread dedicated to Sunderland and if there is it will be buried well down

Trust me when I say that as a whole, we don’t have delusions of grandeur, we know our history and limitations as much as anyone and just because Sunderland are referred to in a transfer thread doesn’t mean you are ‘living rent free’

Good luck for the coming season. I hope you say up but obviously not at the expense of Leeds. Be really interesting to see how you spend as you probably have more headroom than Leeds and Burnley and getting the £ you did for Bellingham has to be applauded
Aye, and look at the traffic any of your forums get compared to this place man…

We don't but a great many people across the UK call us Geordies. I'm not one for tribalism. Geordie is a common name given to people called George and people in Newcastle supported King George in the Jacobite rebellion. Hence they became known as Geordie's boy. May be fanciful but there you go.

The thread exist because there are so many Leeds supporters on here (and Boro, and Portsmouth, and the list goes on).

"We were telling the YEP and Athletic we expected him to have bigger ambitions than a relegation battle.

Clearly not."

"How on earth are we getting outdone by bloody Sunderland"
Not unreasonable to me.

We would say the same, certainly the first sentence. And some the second.

They have had longer to plan and make bids. We have money from two big money sales. Both clubs could argue why are we getting outdone by the the other

Thinking about it, perhaps forum size / #of posts, active posters etc may be a better way to assess the size of a clubs fan base

That would iron out things like trophy history, position in league table, ground size, pricing policies, shit owners, attendances etc that are simply not comparable

It would be interesting to see of the main forums associated with each club how the user metrics compared

This looks to be SFC’s main site and it’s dwarfed by WACCOE which is in turn dwarfed by ones like Red Cafe
Wee's this wally?
