I don't see the harm, gets him experience in a decent standard league, amongst mens football and even if he fails it can show him the realities of mens football and where he needs to improve, close enough to not affect him in moving away and basically around the corner for the club to keep tabs on him and monitor him.

Looks a Decent enough player but needs to kick on, hopefully he can do it and progress further up the pyramid with future loans.

Great relationship between SAFC and Shields. Good work and beneficial for both clubs and also helped by the fact that most Shields fans support Sunderland as does Geoff Thompson the chairman.

Its seems a decent little link up with Shields. There are loads of other local clubs which are at a decent standard such as Darlington, York, Gateshead, Spennymoor, Hartlepool even Blyth and Morpeth. We should link up with those clubs as well.
