Saw him at the Point last night for a talk in. Proper genuine lad. Absolutely loves Sunderland to bits. Some canny stories about the premier league years. Think he was devastated the way things turned out for him at the end of his time with us. Seemed to be an undercurrent about the current regime being a bit amateur as well, albeit he didn’t fully criticise directly. Cameo from Bally at the end as well which had a good bit of chemistry.

Could do worse than to bring him into the coaching setup like (not head coach.) Would have a lot to offer.

The likes of Catts and Defoe as part of the coaching set up would do wonders. Not sure how technically sound they are as coaches but the experience they’d be able to pass on and the culture they could create around the place is what we’re missing

The regime he played under was either a bit amateur or a bit too knowing I just can’t decide which. Hes had enough out of safc already. No need to comeback for more.

Liked Lee.

Still some think he was better than Bally.

He couldn't have tied Bally's laces, as a leader or a footballer.

Bally couldn’t have tied his shoe laces as a footballer mate tbh.

He'd know all about amateur regimes having enjoyed a 'benefactor' like Margaret Byrne.
