League 1 transfers

I don’t disagree with how you rate your players.

I’ve been saying that players such as Bannan, Windass, Iorfa, Paterson and Luongo are all (from my time watching them) very good players.

You are my favourites for the title, as you have the best squad in the league. It doesn’t always work that way, but it’s the most logical understanding of how football works.
Won't be travelling to Hillbro bricking it in September.
If Iorfa is that good, why hasn't he been snapped up man ?
Since when was Windass a world beater ?
Bannan has quality, but he's gona get little time on the ball, and isn't the quickest or biggest.
Don't sweat it man.

What’s the atmosphere like amungst the fans? I know there was a lot of Chasiri out after the relegation but guessing that’s not going to roll onto the new season? So no protests, boycotts.
As we sit here today, we are quite positive.

But you have to realise that positivity is not happy. He relegated us because he fiddled the books, sold the ground, and we would of stayed up if it were not for the point deduction he caused.

He bought the club as a present for his son.

And no joke.. his son (think he is 15) helped him buy players i.e. was part of some interviews for managers.

We know we have signed people because he (ATT CHANSIRI) follows them on Instagram days before they sign - so we all know.. Its embarrassing in a way.

It was his play thing.. just spent ridiculous money of players like Almen Abdi from Watford for 4 million on 35k a week and never played him, had 6 proper strikers.. and then went out and spent 10 million on Jordan Rhodes WTF! - He was literally playing FIFA with a real club.

Last 2 seasons its been coming home to roost. It feels like we have been having an affair, and getting relegated was the wife catching us. Yes that bad, but now the cat is out bag, there is less stress, because the points have been taken and we have been relegated - its a fresh start in a way which feels wierd to say.

If you look at us and Derby.. I know who i would rather be playing for now - but the relegation allowed us to clear the decks which feels fresh. I am NOT saying it was a good thing getting relegated, but that FFP pending charge haunted us for years and now its gone which feels nice because now we can talk about football rather than wages not getting paid, and 4 managers a season and ground being sold and all the nonsense.

Darren Moores contacts have been a god send. Never a league 1 manager

Sheff Wed and Ipswich both have "run away with the league" type squads on paper.

And Wigan and Rotherham fans are both confident and making similar statements.

Its not a good year to not be organised. Hope we get away with it.

But either way - going to be some very unhappy fans this season.

West Brom hovered with 12 million for Iorfa last summer, but he had a massive injury and just made his comeback a few weeks ago.. hence my post saying he will probably be gone in Jan if he stays fit

Windass is a decent player, finished top scorer for us and assists I think. Nothing speculator - but you cant deny he is certainly not a league 1 player - injured last week and out for 2 months. so thats why he hasnt gone.

Bannan owes us one, on 25k in league 1 and settled, we feels a responsibility to get us back out - he will not be leaving.

Bricking it ? I’ll be going there hoping we shut them fancy championship overpaid twats up.

Iorfa is coming off a season long injury and therefore would be a huge gamble for any side. Windass hasn’t ever been a world beater in his life. But he’s been a consistently average decent championship player who is now in the league below which would indicate looking and playing better.

Bannan is a top 5 player in this league on ability and I’m not a fortune teller to say confirm if he’ll have the time on the ball or not just someone who can predict that the best players, in terms of ability, are most likely for success.

it’s not like I’m comparing them to much. Everyone else in this league is shit. They’re just a bit less shit. They’re not mint compared to championship players. The 5 I mentioned are solid players from the league above and are better than the shite this league serves up

Bannan is the best player in the league never mind top 5 imo

And just for clarity, I am not saying we are any better than anyone in this league.

I have no expectations.

We were the only side in country not to earn a single point after going behind last year. So there is no posturing here.

But this new dawn is promising and we are very surprised with all these new faces and a fresh start

Some of that really is incredible to read.

It's so so bad.

He kept creating these companies that were registered but not really operating.

D taxis was one.. elev8 was another and sheffield 6 was another. All ways he could plough money in without it being traced back to swfc.

The best one (that we got caught for) was he sold the ground for 60 million to a company in the name of his Mrs.

what he didn't do was change the dates on the land registry which indicated that the buying company was not formed until 18 months AFTER the sale went through. Lol.

Which was a clear breaking of the rules putting 60 mill back into our accounts not to break FFP from a company that didn't exist!

Like I said the money is there. Just no business acumen what so ever.

I’m not having a go at you mate because you seem alright, but I think you’re in for a rude awakening in this league. You’ll do well to get the play offs.

100%.

I agree with you.

I have predicted 10th in our pre season bets.

It will take more than 10 new signings to erase 4 years of complete incompetence

Just waiting to get our pants took down on sky on saturday now lol

Doesn’t Barry Bannon have a buyout clause in his contract?

The leagues absolute shite mind. Hull came down in a mess and still won it. Rotherham came down the year before that and went straight back up anarl. We’ve been in the play offs twice despite being absolute shit.

Charlton were in a bigger mess and got promoted the year before.

At Sunderland thankfully we specialise in being in a mess then excel at getting messier … this year we’re really going for it on the messy stakes.
No fullbacks in the squad, club shop shut, ticket fiasco.
If there’s an award for messy clubs … we’re right in the mix (again).
