Le Bris the yes man

The loss of not only Tony Mowbray but also Mark Venus was massive for a squad made up of mostly inexperienced young players. Venus had 20 years experience as an assistant manager/coach and his contribution is a huge loss to everyone including Dodds and Proctor. Regie is a young inexperienced head coach coming from another country, he will have limited knowledge of English football. Bringing in a experienced assistant with a knowledge of the EFL would make common sense IMO...

I’m not sure you can ever read anything into the blandness of these sort of interview responses. Whether they are genuinely actively looking and desperate to recruit, or in reality not trying very hard, I’m not sure there is anything else that can be publicly said. You can’t really go “we think our current employees are a pack of shite and we are desperately trying to replace them so we can sack the buggers, but we haven’t quite managed it yet” even if it might cheer some of us up.

The outcome of the process will be what is telling, and I am not holding my breath, but I’m not going to get worked up about the bland answer.

Unrest in Madrid as Jude Bellingham to go up against his new teammate Mbappe and invest in Sunderland to secure the signing of Mendy and support his brother and Mike Dodds, his guiding hand in getting to where he is today. Great news.

Getting interviewed in northern echo saying happy to go forward with current coaching staff if club can’t find the right candidates. I bet speakman and KLD love him already. How hard can it be to find a no 2 or coach. Load of absolute bullshit. I’m sure I read somewhere else over the weekend he didn’t want to talk about strikers either. Just what Speakman and KLD wanted someone who wouldn’t speak out against the model. Let the relegation battle commence.
There's no real evidence they've actually approached or interviewed anyone else since he's come in.
As he took the L'orient job in similar circumstances and worked with the existing staff, they've probably thought he'd do the same here.

You can still read between the lines a bit though. Le Bris could have said he was happy with the coaching staff. It is significant therefore that he didn’t.

No they haven’t, or it’s fair to say that’s the assumption you would make based upon the seemingly lack of intent if any real investment to improve the team.

A simple question to the owner and Speakman, do you think the signing of two CF’s with the likes of Mendy and Stansfield at a cost of circa £7m, would you agree these two signings would increase our chances of at least a play off spot considerably, or are you going to settle on just one signing and pray he doesn’t get injured? There is more than a good chance this outlay will be more than covered with the sale of Clarke in fact a further outlay on a CH and DCM player from the proceeds and we may have a genuine chance of the play offs.

Do nothing don’t support your Head Coach and you will have a major problem come October latest. It’s called showing some ambition and giving you the very best opportunity of showing return on your investment.

Over to you KLD, a huge opportunity awaits or otherwise, as of right now the team has only marginally been improved from last season.
Given the humiliation of last season this was an opportunity to learn lessons and push on.

Just seems like groundhog. Still no striker 18 months after we were desperate for one. Nice strip though.

Sure the arseholes said they'd learnt by their mistakes. Good luck Regis. If things dont work out I'm sure fans will know why , and Speakshite and Dufus will stop attending again.
Le Bris, Browne, Poveda and couple sub keepers the only difference to last year. Mistakes learnt.
Pure PR spin. They’ve done nothing so far to put right the wrongs of last season. They haven’t given the in experienced HC the tools to make a good go of it. The coaching set up needed a change and freshening up as does the recruitment. Only difference is we have 2 class strips.

When he needs some help on the touch line he turns round and sees Dodds the man who almost relegated us from a near play off position. I wouldn’t be taking his advice.

No striker and lumbered with dumb and dumber, he is on a hiding to nothing. This seasons fall guy.

We will get 2 strikers in by the end of the window but I'd rather it was for the 1st game of the season onwards.

Until we do it'll be hard work for Reggie, as it was for the 3 before him last season.

Bobby Saxton knows French.

If Le Bris doesn’t get the tools to have a proper go at the job there’s every chance Dodds will get another shot at it.

It’s an interesting dynamic.

Reggie has joined an organisation where his peers are well regarded by his new employers, beggars belief but that’s the fact.

Just like starting any job he’ll have to prove his worth and as he does his influence on the whole organisation will increase. That’s natural.

The football industry has obviously changed massively in the way that clubs are businesses first and foremost. There are a still a few that are playthings for the mega rich but largely it’s about mitigating risk rather than blind hope of success.

There are a handful of managers that are afforded total control as soon as they walk through the door, and as much as I like the way Reggie speaks and conducts himself he isn’t one of them.

That said, it’s crazy to me that he hasn’t brought one person in that he can confide in, bounce things off and bitch about players/staff/situation/weather etc with no fear of reprisals or snakes reporting upwards. The basics we all need at work.

But from the way he speaks and works he seems far from a yes man to me.

F*ck sh*t up Reggie lad!

Did you see that team of back room staff who left when Klopp left. Same will happen with Pep.
We know employing people because they are your mate is bad for a business.
A number two was good enough for experienced Tony Mowbray but not the next two full time managers.. strange isn’t it.
Don’t blame the new manager, he’s our only hope. The argument we were never going to attract anyone decent who couldn’t bring his own people has an element of truth.

For me the best Home strip we have ever had.

I think the next three weeks will totally define our season it’s that important.I hope I am totally and utterly wrong but we will sign only one CF and spend next to nothing in CH and DCM player unless Clarke is sold. The coach isn’t going to upset either KLD or Speakman, the guy needs a really good No2 and as we and others have said why Dodds and Proctor are around the first team takes some understanding, Dodds you just have to listen to him to understand why we where so bad, the football was absolute dire and that is being kind.

As it stands we'll go into the new season with only one new outfield player, he's definitely getting a baptism of fire...

I got the feeling Dodds was going nowhere when I watched that RLB being shown round the AoL video. Dodds straight up to him telling him he’s starting to learn French and that

We’ve had several French players for about over 2 year now
