Lap Of Appreciation

I still haven't calmed down from Sunday! What a day! It's hard to believe we're in Europe 😃.

I'm not the type to "twist on 21" or rain on the parade but... what about that lap of appreciation? 🤔 God knows why the players disappeared for almost an hour and then came back out with more family members on the pitch than Mags at Sid James's in the play off semi - making it just about impossible to spot the players. It was almost like we'd never won anything for decades and the club didn't know how to organise it...🙄

Maybe others enjoyed the experience but for me they lost a lot of momentum by making us wait so long. I wonder why they didn't just go round the pitch just after the final whistle?🤔 Mind, the big plus point was the lack of early leavers! 😃

A canny few near us were moaning about it at the time as well 🙁. Mind... I would have taken a long post-match wait to celebrate European qualification if I'd been offered that in August🤣.

I thought the same. I was concerned that the players were going to come back out, on what felt like 20 minutes later, and nearly everyone would have gone. Thankfully the fans stayed behind and it was worth it to hear the speeches. The significance of this achievement was worth staying back for, it helped that the next day was a bank holiday so nothing to rush home for.

I lost patience and left the south stand just as they finally started walking round . Does that make me an early leaver ?

How dare our players/staff care enough about the club to celebrate our biggest achievement since 1973 with their families. Sack the board.

They always take far too long to come back out. Thankfully because of the achievement this time people were happy to stay, but there’s been other seasons where we’ve had decent, but unspectacular seasons and people have good intentions of waiting to clap them off.

But then they spend an age pissing around and you see the stadium start to empty and by the time they actually come back there’s barely anyone left

Likewise ... but hey, I enjoyed the twenty or so minutes of singing, team photo etc. The East Stand was like sitting in a greenhouse - I blame the heat !

I thought it was kind of the players to bring all the staff out as they deserve to soak it in as well. Not to mention Enzo, Granit, Luke, RLB, Ghisolfi, and KLD have all mentioned that the club feels like a family. It’d be a shame to deprive the players the chance to show their loved ones to us as the players clearly highly rate what we all think.

I suppose they had all of their press obligations to fulfil before they could come back out. But yes, it was too long & some people had started to leave.
