Landing on the moon - live

Seems like it may have crash landed.

It was probably a woman astronaut driving it, no doubt fast-tracked ahead of better-qualified men to tick equality boxes or something.

Neil Armstrong will be turning in his grave!

Speaking of Armstrong ... along with Aldrin and Collins ... never returned to space after their successful first ever moon landing. (Armstrong and Aldrin walked on the moon, Collins stayed in the lunar module).

Went to Wynyard Planetarium the other week, manned by owld fellas with too much time on their hands they gave what I thought was an interesting assessment of these recent unmanned moon landings.

They said what they're trying to do now is a prelude to building bases up there for more long term of a presence. Like an ISS but on the moon.

When they went up in the 60s/70s everything (apart from the lunar and command modules) were single use. The moon buggies and all the other shite they took up there were left behind and the rockets they used to get there were discarded.

Now they're sending unmanned modules up to survey areas and they have to land themselves. Sounds like it's tricky to get right because the Japanese one got stuck as well.

Well exactly. They had it in 1969 so why not now with today's technology
It was much easier to transmit a super 8 cine camera from 240000 miles away 50 years ago.

Apparently.

Mind the fact most of these tosspots will have spent 95% of the last two weeks watching pornhub on their phones rather than working may have an influence on the success of the project.

Never underestimate a super 8 cine camera 😉

I've got one (and a super 8mm projector). Love stuff like that. Used to have 76, 77 FACup finals, and a summary of the 1966 world cup that I loved.

Used to get a magazine delivery every few weeks with new titles, there was always stuff in the back like

"Hairy German Humphfulsluts in leather dirndl. 16mm, 7 minutes of high quality technicolour close up hairy German housewives in traditional wear for your desires. Warning...including soggy blatch and tits like a couple of wet uncut loafs on a rainy November day in Grimsby" with Dolby panorama sound

Mind I think it might have been a Haaselblad 16mm for the moon landings in 1969
