Lack of transfers concerning?

There's never been the slightest indication we're even interested in him. The fact that we've already bid more than that for Key suggests that this is clickbait bollocks.

Johnson doesn't want him because he doesn't work enough off the ball. And that indicates a laziness - nobody would have had Geads down as an off the ball worker, but he was putting in shifts last season, so if he can do it, Jones can f***ing do it. Except he didn't.

Don't think manager is wrong to want players to play how he wants.

The whole football department want players to play the same way the club wants, from under 11s up to first team, apparently "to reflect the values of the city". In which case, working hard for 90 minutes will not be an optional extra.

That's what I mean.

It's good to see. I would have some sympathy for McGeady if he was jogging back now and again, given his ridiculous productivity at the other end.

But he was putting the shift in. So I don't see that the other wingers, who are nowhere near as productive, should be slacking off. Jones did it time and again - fuck him, thinks he's better than he is.

Let’s be honest it’s a total mess, it’s alright fixing the roof, bringing in some new staff which all did need doing no argument, but most importantly get your first team players in asap to start moulding a team, wtf is going on man.
Why buy a FC then not invest in its 1st team, total shambles 10 days before season kicks off we signed 3 free players of which 2 of them been injured more than they been fit in last year.

I'd take him back but £1m for a highly inconsistent winger who couldn't even cement his place in our side last season seems a bit much.
Think a lot of his inconsistencies towards the end of the season was Johnson constant chopping and changing the team and formations almost every game. One game he's left wing, next game he's on the right, next game he's left out, next game he's a no.10 etc etc. Maybe if he'd been picked right wing every game we'd have seen more consistency. Because on his day he was the best player in the league imo.

He's not worth a fee imo as I don't think he'll get any better. I can't see him commanding much value in future. If Wigan sign him for circa £1m, they will most certainly lose money on him and if they are daft enough to offer him big wages then they'll struggle shifting him if they're promoted.

It's looking more and more like we don't have anywhere near the funds or the desire to spend, that many of us had hoped for.
Wigan just hoovering our old squad up !

I'm not sure if he was ever going to splash the cash that some media had suggested, I think we'd have tightened the purse strings even of we had went up tbh.

I was hoping for us to have a better go at it this summer, and I don't think the new signings (so far) have turned us into the title challengers many had hoped.

It's going to be a grin and bare it season by the looks of it.

We won’t be. This side needs massive improvement which i don’t think it will get. Nothing juvenile about that at all
Sorry mate, how can you say that in July, before the transfer window closes and before we've even played? We got into the playoffs with some very average players, some of which have now left, we're currently a bit light on numbers, but I'm sure that will be rectified, and hopefully this new squad will be going for it more and we'll get a better points tally.

I know some other teams have been doing a lot of business, and people are saying Sheff Wed should be strong, but even they could lose players in the next few weeks, and been a big club down here doesn't guarantee anything, we've found that out.

Because i have seen little to nothing that makes me think our recruitment team are capable. Obviously i hope to be proven wrong. I also think our current squad is worse than last year and the leagues going to be a lot stronger this year

Ive bot been concerned at all til I just thought its 11 days til the seaosn starts, we dont have any senior full backs, are short in central defence and have a single striker (Im not including Grigg).
Is it 13 out and 3 in? We are well short.

Can’t say I blame the recruitment team as obviously we can’t match what the likes of Ipswich are offering players financially it’s as simple as that, I say right now.
