Undoubted talent. When I played and managed teams the one rule was the dressing room had to be right. No posers/troublemakers no matter how brilliant they are. The fact that the useless Piers Morgan backs him proves the point.

Like anything in life there is a balance and a resolution should have been sought.

The only down side to the whole thing was denying the English cricket fans the chance to watch one of our greatest ever players.

A real shame.

Looks like it. Looking forward to it.

Just been ponting interview with Charles thingymejig on sky which was quality as well, never seen that before. Really enjoyed it.
Seen the Atherton and gough ones in the last couple of days. Sky do some cracking stuff on the cricket

Best English player I've seen. Don't think his averages do him justice tbh.

What a batting line-up we had when it was Strauss, Cook, Trott, Pietersen, Collingwood, Bell, Prior.

On batting alone only Root would get into that line-up now. You'd be tempted to trade off Prior's consistency for Buttler's maverick ability and you'd maybe bring in Stokes for Colly as all-rounder. But the top four would be the top four.

If we could just clone two of them we'd be the best side in the world.

Collingwood would be picked as a specialist batsman now. In his early and most productive days with the test side, he batted 4 until eventually swapping with Pietersen at 5.
