Kompany to Bayern

This PSG team is something else man. Last seasons winners, last seasons Ballon d’Or winner and managed by a bloke which has won a treble with two different teams. They’re just a different level to everyone else right now

Player performance decided that tie, not tactics.

One example of how tactical ability swung it in PSG's favour.

There was a video accompanying it which UEFA have unfortunately pulled for copyright, but worth watching them back elsewhere to see the impact.

Olise had a poor game and it wasn't just down to their keeper's rugby tactics. He had plenty of opportunities to involve team mates or play cross field but persisted in trying to take on defenders who had his measure.

Just a couple of weeks ago I read an article about how he was tactically astute in seeing off Barcelona. Could easily have won yesterday if they had their shooting boots on. I do wonder about the links to Gordon, though. He's nowhere near good enough to get into that team.

There were comments last night on the match thread how Safonov’s output was bad, some linking it to Patto. Now we learn it was (for the most part) intentional

Enrique was playing chess this whole time. Stupid sexy Spanish man…

Do you not think that was because he was put into more difficult positions tactically by Enrique, one such example posted above, ensuring he was rarely left one-on-one?

Gordon isn’t good enough for the mags let alone any of the big name teams with a reputation to uphold. He’s shite
