Big game player who is tremendous under pressure, the bigger the game the better he becomes.

Adapts his game to whatever format he plays in.

A simply brilliant cricketer

We know the answer to that, however we also know the answer to many other questions, he is what a cricketer should strive to do, perform in every format, some of his performances chasing in limited over cricket have been simply outstanding.

No doubt, but just to add some perspective to what you said, he scored 5 in the Champions Trophy final last year.

Well yeah you could always pick a exception to the rule with any cricketer or sportsman but their is many a example of him performing when the pressure is on, to have a average of over 50 in T20 internationals where risks are massive is a simply unbelievable stat.

Average of over 50 in all 3 formats speaks for itself.

I'm not saying he's not a good player. I'll reserve judgement when he does it regularly outside of the subcontinent.

I think he has performed well in Australia, however just like our players struggle against spin in India, his strength is not against the swinging ball in England.

However taking all into account covering all 3 formats he is the best batsman in the world imo.

I actually think Smith is. As much as it pains me to say it.

In terms of aesthetics, correctness of technique and shot selection I find Kohli better to watch hands down over Smith. Agree he has the power factor for white ball stuff over Smith as well.

They're both pulling clear of Root and Williamson anyway.

Root has the second best average ever for t20 players and after same amount of innings as kohli it’s practically the same in ODI’s

Roots conversation rate is so bad for his talent in both Tests and ODI’s. Roots never gonna be as good as Kohli in white ball cricket but should be more like Amla in that front, of consistent tons.

Test matches he should be away out in front only himself to blame.
