It's nothing to do with who he plays for hence how Pickford a team mate plays Aston villa, Brighton loads of different sides are represented
 
Why the hate for Lewis Dunk? Hes class. Played over 400 games for Brighton, just because he plays for Brighton and not a fashionable vlub I am assuming.

He's not class at all though. I don't really care how many games he's played for Brighton either, if he was great for 350 of them games and has been shite for the last 50 then is he still class?

Up until the last week or so he's been spoken about in the exact same way as James Ward-Prowse. People wanted him in the team because they think anyone not playing for a top six side is great and gets overlooked. Neither of them are very good. People just blindly throw out that average players like that are great without even watching them play.


Recent performance just there. Bailed out by Steele at 0-0 when he got bullied off Lukaku, poor for the first goal, awful for the second goal and bailed out by Steele at 2-0 when he lost Lukaku.

Agree with this. Definitely need people breaking through at LB and CB (hopefully Branthwaite and Colwill will continue to progress) but aye, CM has been an issue as well. I'm really hoping that Mainoo can do the job. Might be asking a bit much, but sounds like he's predominantly defensive whilst also being decent when he goes forward. Sounds ideal in terms of sitting alongside Rice but also being able to support Bellingham. With Henderson on the way out, it's one of the obvious spaces in the team, never mind the squad, for someone to come and claim

Branthwaite looks class playing for Sean Dyche and Everton. Defending on the 18 yard box heading and kicking with no space for attackers to run into. Completely different animal when u play for a bigger/better team and your asked to push up the pitch and play on the half way and defend one on one. Seen so many good Centre halfs down the years look class playing for a smaller side sitting back and defending then massively struggle when step up a level

He looks like he has a turn of pace too though, so does tomori. Never gets a look in.

Southgate like ball playing defenders, maguire and stones regularly play out from the back and help out the midfield.

I don’t think Tomori really fits that mould, it’s the same reason he dropped Chris smalling
 
He was excellent tonight. Gets the ball up the pitch very well. Seems a good partner for Rice. Naturally Southgate will start Henderson or Gallagher instead at the Euros.
