Keeping our heads

No but them pipping us on the final day after we’ve embarrassed them all season would be one slight bleamish on what has been a season beyond our wildest dreams.

Mind, beating them twice is sweeter than that

if offered, would either set of fans accept one of these over the other:

win 2 derbies but finish 1 place behind at the end of the season by 1 point

or

lose two derbies but finish 1 place ahead at the end of the season by 1 point?

i think 99% of fans of any club would take option 1 over option 2, unless we were talking about finishing 1st and 2nd

We have a different mindset nowadays.. the players and coaching staff know its a big game and im hoping they wont be overawed by the occasion .We have a certain player who wont let it get to the rest of the team.. for the record i think we will win and have done even before the Man Utd and Everton games ...HTL
This.
The days of Sunderland scraping a result to avoid the drop are over (for this season at least).
The team play with confidence and in my opinion they expect to win almost every game.
Long may it continue.

Oh for sure. But imagine we do both…

I’m 57, and I think this is only the second time in my life that we have been able to qualify for Europe [through our league position] going into the final game [excluding the Intertoto rubbish]. Last time it was Chelsea who won on the final day to pip us to qualification. Get that told to the lads and give them a bit of extra motivation to get revenge and get us over the line!

The primary asset Regis has is this unreal ability to keep his squad calm and grounded. I’ve credited it before as the primary reason we won both derbies, and have been successful in all of the big games he’s managed for us so far. We let the likes of Coventry at their place get carried away and overpress and things and picked them off - we’re good at riding waves of pressure and what not.

That’s the last thing I’d be worried about for this team frankly.
Reckon Reinildo is prone to odd red mist
