Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

That's most places. Local park to me, tesco meal deals, greggs, plastic bottles and nitrous oxide canisters. Almost like people think these things just miraculously disappear. We need to move away from plastic bottles and have deposits on glass as per the days of the old Villa pop. We need to be looking at environmental taxes on all this non recyclable packaging. Yes, bridge open a few days and people no pride.
...all the rubbish is just going to end up being hoyed into the river like.

Think they have returns on plastic bottles in the Netherlands. We need that here. People go in search of them. Saves a fair bit on Council cleaning.

Probably be seen as woke nonsense.
0,25€ on plastic bottles and cans in Germany - introduced 10, maybe 15 years ago!

I know. I don’t think anyone has suggested we go for food on a night out since we were kids and went for a new year curry. It’s a pub crawl or nothing. People might think oh is Herbal being contrary again, but I have 2 or 3 groups of mates and they’re all the same.
What about with your partner or family? Nothing better than a nice meal with a nice drink in a nice environment. Each to their own but find it a bit tragic you cannot even see the joy others would get from it.

Where did I say that? I said I forgot about it cos I don’t do really do it. I go out for food with the family for birthdays etc, but that’s about it. Whenever I’ve offered my partner the option to go for a meal they tend to decline and we go out for 10 pints and a dance in glitterball at 2am instead. I’d take that over sitting in a tedious restaurant any day.

Was a couple of newlyweds getting their wedding photos taken on the bridge at tea time tonight. Presume they'd just been married at the City Hall. Didn't seem to mind that all the office workers were walking in the background with their backpacks on.

Unfortunately when Deform win next years local elections and gain control of City Hall, a lot of this good work will be undone.
Yep. After years of inactivity we are now experiencing activity on several fronts and a planned vision becoming reality. Somehow we need to keep highlighting everything that is happening at the moment and make people realise that the brakes would go on if they got in.

Surely most people mix it up? Go out for family meals (obviously if they have kids), couple meals, couple nights out and lads nights out. I couldn't even pick what I prefer as they are all different and good in different ways. Couldn't think of anything worse than doing the same thing everytime
