It's a bridge to the SOL so you would have thought a Red and White walkway would have been high on the agenda.
If it was a cost issue they should have crowdfunded, I would have put a couple of quid in to pay for Red Tarmac.
Sometimes the fine details make a big difference.
Red would look cheap and a bit tacky imo. It settles into a maroon-like colour once it weathers anyway, which it will do pretty quickly in the conditions there.
The black will fade into a darker grey after a year or so.

I'd be up for turrets either side of the bridge that are manned by the good folk of Sunlun. They see any little mug on an electric bike with a balaclava mask on then shoot the fuckers off the side of the bridge. Nee messing about
Id also extend that to any one wearing a mag top. Keep the bridge safe and tidy
