Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

I could understand people twisting if the target had been for our first game. But that has never been the case has it?
No idea I think we all just assumed as it was being bigged up for the rugby and our season opener is the week before. I think many me included just assumed. I’m not surprised like I was over sheepfolds on Saturday getting food and it’s still a massive building site with loads to do. Our lass laughed when I said I think it’ll be open for West Ham game.

It makes sense that it perhaps should have been the target.

Even if it wasn't.

Back in the big time, a softer launch only 6 days before the official opening (if there is one) for the rugby.
Makes match days easier, showcases the city.

Just get off in town and you too can plunge to your death with the rest of us.

No gonna make first game then, pretty shite that mind.
I said this for months as I'm ITK on it but people preferred not to listen.

They can't change their timelines due to the club being in the PL, the timelines were in place for a good while and it was a big draw to get the RWC opener.

I'm not that bothered but it's only 6 days difference.
Although I suppose if we hadn't gone up we'd be playing a weekend earlier.

It'll be interesting to see if it's open for Brentford or whether these cosmetic works take longer.

If they temporarily open it for egg chasers it could be temporarily opened for Brentford

Does anyone know if there is a plan in place to test how it holds up under the weight of full match-day footfall? It almost feels like we are being made the guinea pigs to test its strength. A mate of mine was on a run down the river, he worked on the Megyeri Bridge whilst living out in Budapest and said he had some real worries about the standard of work on our new footbridge. He said the abutments (end supports for transferring loads) didn’t look sufficient for the loads it would need to transfer on a matchday.
Gotta hand it to you mate. I've never laughed so much from a post on here ever before 😂
