Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

Took this photo from Keel Square earlier today on my reasonably priced cellular phone/camera. If you're walking from town you can see the SoL in the foreground. I don't want to end up on the deluded world of the rtg but it looks like a similar feel to a stadium that a vast number of us went to recently (and I don't mean whatever shite name Coventrys shithole goes by these days). I for one am very excited by this.

I did something similar on Friday. Had a stroll around some of the new developments very impressive. Sounds daft and obvious but couldn’t believe how much the bridge links ground the city centre. Sheep folds feels closer to keel square than park lane.

Is it just an optical illusion that it looks quite bumpy, expecting it be totally flat or a meringue,

I’ve just used the measure distance feature on Google Maps and it actually is closer between Keel Square and Sheepfolds than Keel Square and Park Lane. 0.249 miles conpared to 0.258. The measurement point was from the A183 St Mary’s Way.

While I don't want to come across as obsessed ... the distance from Keel Square to the SoL is now very similar to the distance from Old Eldon Square to the lop sided shit tip ... and everyone goes on about how wonderful their stadium is being in the city centre ...
