Patience. The centre section of the new Wear footbridge waiting to be lifted into position at around 2pm this afternoon. The bridge is part of a huge regeneration project that includes a large amount of new housing to be built (on both sides) followed by landscaping, which will take time, hence the approx opening date summer 2025

They've got floodlights on the tug. I think at the very least it'll be lifted off the barge today.
Perhaps the 8 hours includes prep work?

If you go down the steps over on side of wearmouth bridge next on Barbary coast side you can see the site quite well. Terrible explanation but yet again I forget how to add photos on here
