Firstly, there is a huge difference between 'street art' and 'tagging'. Lisbon is smothered in high quality mural work and it really adds to the atmosphere of the place. Rome, the 'Eternal City' is covered in ugly tags on every damn streetcorner. Nobody wants to see someone's messy abortion of a signature on some aged architecture, but if you're going to add to the funky beauty... then crack on.Mind, as a former graffiti artist, I can say, it would be like honey to the bee.![]()

Maybe they should hire a few muralists to depict our great city in its prime and in the future. Once a surface is covered, these halfwits tend to go elsewhere and even if they muscle in it is much easier to repair than a virgin wall.
