Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

I'm stunned, it's so striking, good to see they used that same design, as the Gil bridge, simply stunning.

Obviously trying to deter jumpers but it does look a bit like industrial estate fencing.
Can't see why the fencing needs to be so high, too industrial, agree. Anybody wanting to jump can walk a few mins to the Wearmouth so not much of a deterrent. This is very different to the original design.

will be brilliant for the town centre this.

does look a bit like a cage on this image though

Logon or register to see this image
Make it a full on cage and close the other bridge to pedestrians and it might deter people from being on the wrong side of the railings
People adamant of hurting themselves will carry on doing so but these iconic structures with the people on them draw people in

Looks like a shite concrete bridge with no imagination or even thought put into it!

Do a search in google for 'concrete bridge' and switch to 'images'
You'll find some really good and some really nondescript designs - this is most definitely in the nondescript category.
