Will one end be bolted to allow for expansion or will it be pre-tensioned? In any case it'll take a while to permanently secure it.

Not sure about the bridge ends to be honest.
But there are 3 major joints to be welded there.
Not a 5 minute job.

Certainly isn't, will take time and as we're running into autumn and winter the weather will play a part. It would be great if it was completed ready for the first game of next season though.

Crikey. If I’d guessed I would’ve said it was more like 50m! (From road surface to water)

Just goes to show how far the (untrained) eye can be out!

Wearmouth Bridge is 105 ft / 32m supposedly. Interestingly that’s higher than the Tyne Bridge which is 85ft, I would’ve always assumed the Tyne Bridge was higher. So we’ve won the high bridge cup.

There was always some weld inspector knocking around who couldn't burn his fingers waiting to try and catch you out.
