For taking the England job, the dream of his whole career and the pinnacle of management for an Englishman?

Bollocks.

It's not leaving for Stoke, like. It's f***ing England.
As with Neil the manner in which he left wasn't great. England was very handy for Allardyce, he was already making noises that he wasn't happy

Rumours, but we'll never know. Also, maybe justifiable given the shit-show of the club back then. Not comparable to Neil at all imo.

Red and white spectacles off: an established English manager is always going to leave for England. Don't blame him at all.

I think it's comparable, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me but didn't Allardyce leave the Hartlepool friendly at HT? He was definitely making noises about not being backed that's why I think England coming up was very handy for him.

Allardyce had a decent stint with us. Not sure he's a Judas or anything mind.
