Kate Tempest

Had some belting tunes around 2015ish, proper pop/hip hop that was fun to listen to and quite interesting. But it's far too complex now . Went to London for a weekend to see her at Brixton academy a couple years back and the whole set was one long monologue . Bordering on self indulgence. It was impossible to follow any thought process through it. Inane rambling which was boring. Shame really. Met her and rapped with her behind the sage one night. She was lovely

She started off doing normal sample laden hip hop but has sort of evolved into a more politicised spoken word sound. If you're arsed, check out her Glastonbury set from 2017 which was just after Grenfell, she starts off with a really emotional speach about the it (and the state of the country). It was quite stirring tbh
Watched about 30 seconds of it there. 30 seconds way to long!

Greta Thunberg on roids.
