I bought Egyptology for 50p I think from Washy Library and stuck it on (great album) and this started.
Williams had already had the hit by then so I was WTF is going on here?
R.I.P. made some great music.

I remember World party were down to support U2 at Elland road, but for some reason they never played. I was gutted. Never did get to see them live.

He never got the breaks. He got to perform She's the One - pre-Robbie Williams - on Jools Holland, only to be given the slot after Radiohead debuting Paranoid Android. It made his brilliant song seem lightweight.

What a songwriter he was. Another of my favourites:

Very sad to hear. I always enjoyed his music and bought World Party's first album Private Revolution shortly after it was released. I love "All come true".
