The ideal candidate for the job for me, and relatively realistic, although it would be understandable if he wasn’t interested in us. But if he hasn’t at least been contacted by the club in the last week, then what the fuck is Bain doing?
 
Surely he would have been sounded out in the summer, when we were in a better position. If he was and said no, why would he take it now?

Exactly - we've been without a manager for nine days, Karanka is unemployed, knows and has been successful in this league and lives within commuting distance of the club. If we haven't even sounded him out by now there's obviously no chance of it happening.

He’s been out of work well over 6 months, how many ‘long term exciting projects’ have been in touch with him so far? How many are there? Not many in this day and age.... we clearly aren’t on paper, but we should be at least asking the question.

You're probably right.

We've probably let it be known we're after a manager who's prepared to work on League 2 wages with a League 2 transfer budget and are puzzled to find there's very, very few interested parties.

It's grim isn't it. Wouldn't be surprised if we are prepared to pay big wages to McCoist though and maybe some of that money and the inevitable pay off money finding its way towards zoolander

McCoist would be an absolute disaster. I'd honestly prefer they give it to someone like Hirst than McCoist
 
This is a real football club not Bain's plaything. He needs to get this appointment absolutely correct. As much as McCoist seems like a man's man and is a fan he MUST not be given this job.
