Also believed he was destined for greater things after he left us. Going back to the championship with a struggling club might not suit his ego.
 

To be clear - His reputation for being ultra defensive was made last season when he totally lost his way. In the championship he was excellent.

The issue was he constantly fell out with players to the point where he walked out on the club. Toys right out of the pram.

He was still very defensive in the Championship

I get where you’re coming from re the defensive side but I think he gets way too much credit. Boro had good defenders already at the club whereas we don’t appear to have them.

He’s also spat his dummy at a potentially damaging time when they were on the brink of getting promoted. He’s also a miserable twat and the place needs a lift.
Better than Grayson undoubtedly but I’d avoid him personally.

Yep, fair enough. He can organise his side to be defensive. I just feel at this point that type of football mixed with the mistakes in the side and the anger / apathy in the crowd wont mix well.

I just want us to get mid-table and safe from yet another relegation. We have plenty of creative players at this level in McGeady, McManaman, Grabban, Watmore even Asoro. What we need is a more solid system to take the pressure off the defence and especially the goalkeeper. I'd also like someone who would spend hour after hour practising defending corners and free kicks and the practising us getting more out of corners.

Boring 1-0 wins at home would be an absolute pleasure compared to the last 11 months of hell at the SOL.

That's fair enough marra. If it goes that way then Ill hope for the best I just dont see him as a good match at all. I see him as another ego, a mardy one at that, another Gus Poyet.
