Kane v Lewandowski

Nothing in it overall, and there have been times in the past (not now) when I would have had Lewandowski ahead.

And both have a goal a game over a sustained period playing for the same club, Bayern, playing in the same league.

So how in the hell it is an 'insulting comparison' (to either of them), God only knows.

Using international football when they play for countries on totally different levels is irrelevant as well.

Pretty much this. I'd say Kane is now slightly ahead but for a stage of their careers, I'd have had Lewandowski ahead. I'd put them 3rd and 4th on the list of the best strikers of the last 15 years behind Suarez and Benzema.

Yeah that’s basically the point I was making. I actually think it’s sometimes an anti English hipster bias.

Well I was commenting on it being a common debate amongst Bayern fans
Met some bayern lads the other week they never mentioned that comparison like

People have the memory, attention span and often the football nous of a goldfish
Everything ( players especially ) now is far superior to what it was a year ago, 5 years ago etc
The likes of R9, Benzema, Lewandowski at their peaks were all fabulous at their peak, and their styles etc reflected the era they played in

Ribery Lewandoski Robben or Diaz Kane Olise they both have/had excellent service
Thats a good comparison. Overall you would think you would opt for the first trio, but we often look back with tinted specs. This current front 3 are tearing everyone apart and each time any of them get near the box you expect a goal

I reckon Kane will be one of these strikers who plays at the top until he’s about 38 or something. He’s never had much pace to lose and he still seems in top physical condition.

Kane is the better all-round footballer, Lewandowski is more mobile and quicker. Their goals record is very similar - Lewandowski scored at least 25 goals per season for 14 years in a row. The two best centre forwards of the last 20 years. Benzema just a level below for me but his stats are skewed because he had to play a different role to enable the goalscoring (and ego) of Cristiano Ronaldo.
