The more I see on this, the more astounded I am.

Apparently the Premier League expecting the Crown Prince who is the Chairman of PIF to fall under their owners tests is offensive to the Saudis.

Then the conspiracy theory part: "Let’s be absolutely crystal clear – if the PL wished to block the bid on the basis of TV piracy they could have done so and months ago."

Completely ignoring the possibility that the Premier League were leveraging owning the club to get the Saudis to pay up for TV rights.

Almost every club in the Premier League is worth so much because of the Premier League brand. The sale of TV rights around the world allow these clubs to earn a fortune and somehow Newcastle fans have convinced themselves that piracy of the TV rights shouldn't be a big deal. Not only that but the Premier League are clearly in the pocket of Qatar because BeIn do pay for the rights.

Absolutely incredulous. But at least that circus up the road has no shortage of contortionists. Every one of the fuckers have somehow twisted this into some epic conspiracy and self pity show.
Surely that Mick Martin is chock full of libelous accusations

All mockery aside The premier league have came out really badly in all this mind, whatever the rights and wrongs of the takeover are they didn't even have the balls to reject it themselves, they have basically said we will delay forever if needed. Then you have teams like Liverpool and Spurs putting pressure on them to reject it, just shows how corrupt the whole debacle is and unless you are one of the top clubs you have no chance. They are also clearly in bed with Qatar. I get that people find it hilarious as its happened to Newcastle but it has just shown how corrupt the PL really is. Who as a fan really wants to be part of it unless you are one of the big teams with all the money.

To me it should have been rejected ages ago but the premier league kept a door open because of fan pressure and initial pressure from the government about working closely with Saudi.

If the events of yesterday and the continuing reaction this morning show anything, it is this; we may be only 10 miles apart but the contrast between the two sets of fans following their respective take over disappointment means
Just to be clear you're comparing the takeover which could have made Newcastle one of the richest clubs on the planet, with the Sunderland takeover by a man with less money in his account than I do?

Nah, PL leveraging the purchase to get the Saudis to stop stealing the broadcasts. If the PL were satisfied that the sale would end (or significantly reduce) piracy then it would have gone through.

Mind there have been reports that other PL clubs were against it from a pure self-interest position. Which is understandable, if frustrating.

Haven’t they tried to take action in Saudi courts 9 times previous but there’s no court in Saudi that will pick the case up?

Seems like Saudis have had a lot of contempt for the PL in the past/disregard for them.

Two extremes here in the dark side.
Theres a young early 20s lad who isnt bothered but hes not going back and theres the 50 year bloke who is racially abusing the radio every time the mags are mentioned.
Keeping me well entertained

The self-absorption is becoming mind blowing. Literally plumbing new depths.

Rather than face the clear fact that it is at all times unacceptable to have a murderous autocratic regime with a hideous record on human rights as custodians and owners of a high profile football club, they instead have somehow turned this into a conspiracy by the top clubs and Premier League to ensure that mighty Newcastle United remains kowtowed less they dominate English football for generations.

Actually mental, incredibly mental.
