Saudi main TV station is state owned as is Telecom Company (the Bskyb failed takeover for Man Utd set a precedent for a TV company to also own a club. Saudi Telecom is owned by PIF) and I do not see any other companies that have the capacity to deliver live sport. Companies like DAZN, Netflix, Amazon may for a vastly reduced fee take a chance but why would they when Saudi haven't respected the PL deal with BEIN. In addition why should BEIN surrender it's rights? They paid 500m for four years and Saudi should be the most lucrative market.
Wonder what the knock on effects of the BEIN ban will be? If companies can't get their adverts shown in KSA via BEIN, will they pay as much to have an advert on at half time? No idea how it works.

Re: other broadcasters paying to broadcast in KSA, it's a new market that's available, I'm guessing they'd fancy a punt on it. Especially Amazon who apparently only launched its online store in KSA last month.

Now that the BeoutQ boxes have gone, amazon fire sticks can replace it.
Seems that's how we do it in this country.

Its crazy like, the Pl just needed to say no weeks and weeks ago if they didn't want to pass it, like I genuinely don't understand why they haven't made any sort of decision after 4 months. Looks like they want to reject it but have no legal reason so are just delaying and delaying hoping the Saudis get sick and pull out.

The Premier League are waiting for HMRC to bring the vat and paye evasion case to court. Once they do so the PL will say they can't consider the deal any further until the case is concluded. If the criminal prosecution is successful then the PL will issue there own punishment. This will solve a massive headache for them as they can simply relegate the mags and withhold parachute monies as their pl status was obtained by deception. Saudi won't be interested in buying a Championship club. Scudamore's parting shots included the real liklihood of the pl coming down very hard on one or two clubs known to have been taking the piss financially, obviously they'd never dare have a pop at one of the big boys but the mags would be a perfect sacrificial lamb for a number of reasons.

Is this the really ace dream you had last night?
