Everton's squad is massively overrated in my opinion. They have wasted millions on average players. Ancelotti is a top manager though and he will improve them you'd have thought.
They are living proof you can actually get worse after spending lots of money but still have a lot of good players in that team

People getting their knickers in a twist over nowt. If this takeover was happening it would have already happened. They'll still have Ashley and Bruce this time next season and they'll still be whining on that they're only a mid table Premier League team when they have in in their heads that they should be more than that despite their history saying otherwise.
I think you may be in denial, but we’ll see.

people need to knock this richest club in the world on the head. The money isn’t all in Newcastle. They won’t be throwing £260 billion into the team.
Exactly, they’re being brought by an investment fund who will be looking for a return, not a wealthy individual looking for a new toy to play with. PIF invested a fortune in the Carnival cruise line, which offers cheap cruises for yanks and you don’t see them throwing money at it to help them improve their image. They may pump in a bit at first but I’d be very surprised if they try to emulate Man City.

I know for a fact they are looking to make investment in to Newcastle City Centre too.

They "only" bought 8.2% of a publicly quoted company. Buying 80% of a privately owned company is a completely different proposition.

Chelsea are light years ahead of them and have added two fantastic players to their squad for next season. Newcastle need to buy an entire new squad to come anywhere near that level which will cost billions. Look at Everton they have all the money in the world and still cannot get close. There is nothing to worry about at all in regards to them lot winning owt. They will go in the bracket of rich clubs who cannot win fuck all with it like Wolves and Everton
chelsea's squad cost about 400-450m. i dont know where billions comes from.

Aye on this squad but how much have they spent to get where they are since Abromvich took over? It will be billions. Plus they signed most of them players when transfer fees were not f***ing ridiculous like they are now. Plus everyone knows you have cash so add extra money onto players. City / Chelsea have spent billions to get where they are Newcastle would need to do the same.

I won’t begrudge them getting excited if the deal goes through, it’s a very rich group after all.

It’ll take a few years for them to regularly challenge for Europe again, but they’ll still be a while away. Like we’ll be a while from competing for promotion to the premier league.

Throwing money at players and hoping it’ll turn the fortunes doesn’t always work. They should target young and really good upcoming players across Europe and look to build up a quality young side (like Wolves did with Neves etc). Not splash it on players who are 32+ years of age. If they just throw money at those then they’ll be having to constantly replace them year after year.

I read somewhere that they’re looking to invest in the region as a whole? May have misread that like.

Anyone thinking the fans have any say in this are delusional. If they get the nod and Ashley is prepared to sell then there isn't a single thing the supporters can reasonably be expected to do prevent this sale going through.

I would imagine there are a fair few who are are completely for it as they don't do ethics when it comes to football. There'll also be some who might say it's too much and never darken the doors again.

The fact that Staveley is taking a share makes me think this is more about getting a return on investment rather than being a sugar daddy like Abramovitch and Mansour. So roll on a few years, good players sold on for profit, and it will be the same old story.

I'm 100% confident that were the situations to be reversed those on here taking the moral high ground would be keeping quiet and me and other would be slating you for getting into the bed with the devil.

The thing is, if you are going to get all moral about this possible purchase, don't you have to start condemning other parts of your life influenced by the likes of the Saudis? You are probably putting their petrol in our cars. You might be working for an employer that sell them billions of pounds worth of arms and equipment. You might have voted for a government openly supporting their rulers.

The Reubens are involved so there’ll be significant local investment apparently.

A bit like what the FPP thing was supposed to be except not bullshit and no monorail.

Perfectly put.

Necessity is the mother of all invention. Have you heard that saying?
You are more or less implying, for want of an analogy, is that because the Saudi regime murdered Khashoggi his fiancé now shouldn’t use the resources the Saudis supply?

The Reuben brothers own Newcastle Racecourse.Anyone thinking of boycotting their race meetings if they are part of the takeover? Please don’t make an arse of yourselves and say yes !!! I’ll still be their for the plate.
