Aye, well done Benji, you’re up there with the likes of Viking, Austria Wien, Skonto Rija, Wisla, Vitkoria Prizen, etc... who all played Barcelona in the Champions League around the same time. Like yourselves they never actually achieved anything either except making up the numbers for big boys to generate extra TV revenue. I wonder if their fans still bore their neighbours about their exploits at the ‘highest level’.

I don’t think that was the point, it was more to do with how she was allegedly funding her share in the consortium, has anyone mentioned it affecting the takeover?

That was exactly the point I was coming to Mr B, you see they are taking great pleasure they are top 6 in status but all those clubs you have mentioned have also travelled abroad, and probably won more domestically. That doesn’t make them big clubs

In terms of pure fairness they're all top clubs in their respective countries. So i bet they probably do brag a bit.

It makes them big clubs in the league they play in.

They probably are top clubs in their countries and like to live on that game against one of the big boys, but to be honest, I’ve never heard of them.

Just pointing out to the likes of Benji that just because you played against the likes of Barcelona, Milan, etc..., it doesn’t make you the European Titan he believes them to be. All credit for getting there in the first place, but the reality is that most clubs are simply there to make the numbers up and are little thought of outside their own country.

So, are they any different to Newcastle ? After all they have played in Europe if that is the criterion, in fact they might have won more domestically in their respective leagues

Top 6 aside I still rate Ipswich, West Ham and Everton ahead of you as they won something they qualified for. On top of that you have Forest and Villa who won the premiere competition.Wolves, Fulham, Boro and Leeds also trump you by getting to a final. A fellow mag may buy the spin that, playing all those games in Europe, makes you a European heavyweight but the history books show otherwise.

Don’t worry Benji, ya ma’s income will be flowing again once a vaccine is found. Can’t be easy standing on street corners in these times touting for business.
