I don't see Chi Onwurah's name on that list of MPs. She rightly shows huge concern to the plight of zero contract workers in Sports Direct, Black Lives Matter and people badly affected by Covid19.
However she seems less concerned about the plight of women,gay people,journalists,Christians,Hindus,Shia Muslims,foreigners and anyone else without a beard in Saudi Arabia.

Must be a bit of a head fuck for a civil rights campaigner.
It's career ending these days to offer any criticism toward women, Lgbtq (apologies for any letters i may of missed) and Muslims, the holy trinity of groups that can not be questioned.
What stance do you take when a Muslim apposes the rights of one of the other groups...... intersectionality nightmare...... who is most oppressed ..... Waaaaaa head fuck

To be fair he did pie them off for a year :) Ashley is class man.

"The Newcastle deal is subject to Premier League approval, which is applying an “owners’ and directors’ test”, which can bar potential owners if they have committed an act in a foreign jurisdiction that would be considered a criminal offence in the UK, even if it was not considered illegal in their home territory.

This stipulation has led to the organisation being subject to intense lobbying from opponents of the deal. This includes beIN sport, the Doha-based broadcaster owned by Nasser Al-Khelaifi who is also president of French club PSG. The TV network has been hit by a wider political dispute that erupted in 2017 when Saudi Arabia, the UAE and two other Gulf allies cut diplomatic and transport links to Qatar.

Richard Masters, Premier League chief executive, has had meetings with beIN executives in recent weeks, according to two people familiar with the discussions, who argued the Saudi state should be blocked from acquiring Newcastle because of alleged involvement in beoutQ, a pirate network that has unlawfully streamed content from beIN including English football matches. Saudi Arabia denies involvement."

I've assumed they would approve the takeover as the Premier League only cares about money, and they have boatloads, sod the human rights etc.
However beIN pay a lot of money to the Premier League so they will care what they think.

It’ll still go through I reckon,

There will be back handers all over. For what it’s worth, doesn’t Abromavich (sp) have a dodgy background/past.

I can remember a few concerns raised when he bought Chelsea but it was quickly forgotten.
