Yes it does. Also that they were everyone's 2and team (they weren't mine). They slate Jordan when he says they are doing well, hes an arsehole, knows nothing etc, yet he said the other day he thought the takeover would go through. Then he was a top lad. They do it with anyone who slates their agenda. This will not be how they want it to be IF it goes through. They will be protesting that the beheaders arent spending the whole budget on new players and kicking off when a world class player signs for Barca or PSG. The most self entitled set of morons ever seen with no moral fibre despite being shite for all but 2 years under Keegan. 1992ers the biggest glory hunters in the worldDoes every article on the Mag or the Chronicle have to reference the fact that they almost won the league with King Kev? It's almost like they're worried people will forget.
I chuckle when I see mags retort about Man City or PSG as likely they have no idea what Abu Dhabi is or what country it is or its relationship with Dubai, or could pick out Qatar on a map. But this is akin to a team being bought by Her Majesty's Treasury and when you read PIF, you read Saudi as a whole.
I know they are modernising (Vision 2030) but this is still a country where until recently women couldn't drive, where until recently the religious police enforced behaviour on the streets, where classrooms/universities are separate for men and women, where until recently there was no cinema, dis-regard for property rights and IP, 184 beheadings in 2019 ..... Even if that all changes now it will take a generation to shed those negative associations.
Every Newcastle win, every signing, every footballing success will be accompanied by numerous negative associations and Newcastle as a club will be tarnished forever. If I am a "family" brand I would run a mile to avoid the potential reputational risk.
As mentioned before I have a number of Saudi acquaintances and have worked with some top Saudi companies and as long as you keep the conversation away from religion and politics everything is fine. Plenty of North Eastern fellas have worked out there and earned good money so many of us bend our morals at times, for economic reasons, but for the lost mags on here to be some enthusiastic about being taken over by the PIF confounds belief.
Another day nearer
to reject it.
There's only wan king keane!
(sorry marra, that's what always seems to pop into my mind when I see your ava...)
I think football has changed lately, well it has in my eyes. Totally honest here but I just want my club properly ran, turning a profit each year irrespective of what division we’re in. I despise the Premier League and I despise Sky. Don’t get me wrong, I do want the lads back in the top flight but not at a huge cost. We had a billionaire owner and we all know how that ended up. Getting taken over by a group with not only no affiliation to football or the area but not even to the country is exactly what happened to us. It maybe exciting times for you at the moment but we all know there’s always a chance the bubble will burst. The Premier League is all about throwing millions around for transfer fees and wages for players that will walk away at the first opportunity. Living in the North East especially in the winter is not really a place some of these mercenaries want to be.Mate you would want this if it was Sunderland, the vast vast majority would be nailing us to the floor......imagine Newcastle stuck in the 3 rd division for the 3rd season in a row and Sunderland about to become the richest club in Britain , morals would be no fucks given .You will never admit it though eh?

I thought it was 'wasting Parliament's time' bringing up Newcastle United in the Commons last time out?
Hand on heart I would not. Of course I would want us to be back in the Prem and competing but I can see the bigger picture. It is not a moral stance I just believe the victories will be hollow and you will be dragged through the mud each and every week. You can pretend all you want that you will be like Millwall (no one likes us etc.) but that is bullshit as you forever need reassurances. No bitterness, no jealous, no resentment whatsoever - knock yourselves out. Top stars need endorsements and social media followers not just a big salary and this digital age it would be too much of a risk for a top top name to sign for Newcastle as long as the Saudi mud-slinging goes on.
They would swap league positions but I think you underestimate the level of intelligence of a great number of fans by quoting 99% Out of 40,000 fans your are saying no more than 400 would not want those owners. I disagree but then neither of us have any stats to back up the argument.Ok I get the sentiment, look this may not happen, however I’m at an age that I’ve no chance in truth of ever seeing us win something , that will be my whole life .As a fan of a club like Newcastle that’s quite an appalling record.Nothing is certain but we would be competing and in with a chance if done right and yes it’s all about money and so be it we would need it for me to see a trophy win, yes we could fluke it however it’s unlikely. As it stands you have zero chance of a return to the PL unless you have significant investment, that’s the way of the world. You have a romantic dream, fair enough but I guarantee 99% of your fan base would swap our situations in a heart beat.
We could go bust, you are correct. Sunderland AFC could cease to exist. Nothing any supporter could say to me would wind me up, it is what it is and I’ll always be proud of being a Sunderland supporter.what’s the bigger picture? You could very soon go bust
What would you do if sat in your Mams spare room and your wank sock was in the wash? They would swap league positions but I think you underestimate the level of intelligence of a great number of fans by quoting 99% Out of 40,000 fans your are saying no more than 400 would not want those owners. I still don’t get why people troll other teams message boards though, maybe you could enlighten me on that
