Julian Alvarez

Became the first player in River Plate's history to score six goal in one match last night.

Joining Man City in the summer. Under the radar because it's a small fee and Haaland grabbing all the headlines. But bloody hell, no the wonder Jesus wants to leave 🤣
Under the radar because he already signed for them in January 😉

Phew, Saw the name alvarez and just assumed we had been stung for another several million.

If Chelsea are indeed culling a few reserve players then some of them may be worth a look.

So he was there a year. That’s £2m. And Bremen would have paid a chunk of his wages. And likely a loan fee of £1m

Was no loan fee involved. I'm only going off a mate who's grandson is in with somebody at Chelsea mind so I stand to be corrected. Bremen wouldn't be paying a massive chunk of his wages either. It was a profit but not a big one.

Clubs like City and Chelsea are ruining the game buying everyone and then loaning them or binning them when it doesn’t work.
Chelsea have a long history of buying players, from rivals, that only played a few games for them e.g. Steve Sidwell, Scott Parker, Shaun Wright-Phillips. Cannot think of City doing this too often ?
Chelsea also have a long and trusted system of developing very good Youth players and sending them out on successful loans e.g. Tammy Abraham, Rueben Loftus-Cheek and Conor Gallagher.
Manchester City now have an excellent Youth Academy, but haven't loaned out many, if any, very good prospects, domestically.
Cardiff City had Tommy Doyle this season in the January window, who did fairly well. Also you had Callum Doyle on loan, who was ok ?
MUFC were the past masters at loaning out good Youth/squad players, which Sunderland benefitted from.
The bigger clubs often are one step ahead of the others with their Youth policy - it has gone on for decades.
Also with a set number of 25 first team squad members, neither Chelsea or City can have more than any other team.
Being mischievous, the mainstream media have a downer on Chelsea and City's achievements in the last 15 years, as this has hit the fortunes of their "darlings in red shirts"...
