That wasn't what I said. They have lost millions on players that they've bought and who have gone out on loan or sat doing nowt for the first team.

djilbodgi was sold to us for millions of profit..i use him as an example because they could make a profit on someken that shit...
borja whp is on loan at southampton will be sold this usmmer if they dont want him...will go for many millions...
they bought aadndu from exter for basica ompo..he is on loan in seire A now..that should be millions of profit..
they sold de brueyne to a germn club for £20m..

the pint is the ones they sell are usually not famous so dont attract as much publicty as the ones they buy..

Liverpool operate the same way..their very long serving aacdemy guy says the remit is to make a profit from the academy and they usually do..selling players like brewster or kent for quite big fees after they have done a few loans..

To be fair at the time, Willian, Oscar and Schurle were in the form. Hazard was at his peak and they had Costa and Drogba as back up. Salah, at that time, wasn't good enough to dislodge them.

A small profit on Djilibodji to us given his wages. De Bruyne is one. Who else who contributed nothing to the first team was sold for a big profit? Very few.

He certainly didn't play as a forward tho, but I don't think that was completely down to Chelsea, I think it was Roma? where they changed his role and he then went on to be the player he is now.

Dunno how you can say that for certain

Loans tend to cover a large chunk of wages plus a fee. They’ve frequently led to players being on sold. Atsu is a good example, paid £3m for him. Several loans (highly likely with fees and wages covered), sold for £6m

I'm not denying that a few have been sold for a profit. For every De Bruyne and Aké there's a Clarke-Salter and Baba Rahaman.

And people always think “oh he must be good because he’s from city / Liverpool / chelsea”

What were we like when we signed the 2 lads from Bayern Munich last year? Everyone was buzzing before we’d even seen them kick (or catch) a ball

ryan bertrand cost £150k played some for chelsea but did premier legaue loans with fees that probably exceeded £150k..

yes but thats the point..not all of them will work out..but a big profit on one of them pays for a couple of the flops as well..its a numbers game but thats why they have big numbers...
that billy gilmour that was at norwhich..would probably bring in enough this summer to cover the cost of a few flops on his own
