I grew up in Ryhope, briefly in Grangetown and moved to Fatfield about 8 years ago now and wouldn't consider going back to live in Sunderland now.

Maybe I'm brainwashed but I like Washington...course there are shite parts but also some very expensive and exclusive areas.

I might be making this up but do/did SAFC own a couple of rather nice kips in Biddick ... ??

Aye, took a lass out from Shiney (Clare with massive tits, but nee picks back in the day) and drove into there and pulled up on a drive as though I lived there after a couple of drinks in Chester. Ended up in the car park next to the fish pond at Fatfield...happy days
 
Washington is like a big version of Houghton, or a small version of Sunderland city centre. Some nice areas, a few okay areas and then some grotty shitholes that make you wish for napalm strike.

Can't be many okay areas, there's no stories in the Sunderland Echo unless it's stories about Washington crime;-)

It's only really places like Albany that you need to avoid like the plague! Concord is a bit of a shithole, and Oxclose is okay. Well, parts of Oxclose are canny and some seem a bit dodgy. Still better to be walking around Oxclose in the dead of night than say, Queensway in Houghton. Or the Racecourse estate. Holy fuck.
 
Folk in the north east take the piss out of where the others live thread.
Meanwhile people in the south show total disdain for anybody from the north. :-(

Parts of lambton, ayton, fatfield, generals wood, rickleton have huge expensive houses. Same as everywhere up here. Some really nice places, but your never more than 5mins from a dodgey area.
