For fucks sake he's 20, what are people expecting, took his goal really well, used the ball well, got past his man plenty and delivered some good balls.

Growing in stature, good that he got skys MOM too. well done that man.

Apart from his goal, he did none of those things you just said, he may aswell not been playing tbh

he should be good enough to get the ball past the first man at a corner...embarassing he never gets it past the near post

He was great

1) Our corners improved because of him
2) His pace on the right in the first half was amazing
3) He scored
4) He got back and played solid defense.
5) He gave our opponents another guy to worry about when we are going forward...

Could not have asked for a better performance!

SRP - yer weren't watching the match were yer?

essex - for as long as i can remember our corners have been shit, maybe he's under instruction to play it to the front post looking for a flick on?

I thought he had only 1 bad corner today... Against Wolves all our corner kicks were garbage...

Well if he didn't we wouldn't have got 3 points as unlike the 3 strikers, he took his chance.

Sad state of affairs when a kid Sunderland through and through that has been catapulted into the limelight at 20 years old, for OUR club gets shit from his own fans after scoring his first goal of the season. Embarrassed actually that we have fans like that.

His best game since all the England malarkey. Very good first half but started to become more anonymous as the game went on.

The SMB expect Henderson to be as good as Maradona, in their their typical, critical way.

Think someone else needs to take the corners....i would like to see Henderson hanging round just outside the box for our corners to have a shot off any balls that spill out....

Home grown, only 20 years old and already an England cap. We've seen him already, many times, be one of our best performers and he's yet to realise his full potential.

Can't understand why folk chose to be critical.

He played very well today and got a goal that he deserved, His run in for the goal was brilliant. It's just a shame that most people on here expect him to be world class and score 20 goals and make 100 assists a season.

Great goal that won the match in the end. Otherwise solid enough. Needs a rest, but think today was good on the lads confidence.

I wish supporters would do just that and support the lad. A young local kid who is doing well. Not his fault the media hyped him up with the England stuff etc. Typical English waiting for him to fail. Really hope he sticks it up your f***ing arses. Some bloke near me was shouting at him for not putting his foot in (fair enough) but then threw in a 'f***ing £20 million quid - what a joke'! As if Henderson has valued himself at that! He didn't say much when Henderson came away with the ball like. And I can't recall hearing him offering praise when he coolly slotted the ball into the net either. Some of our supporters are a f***ing embarrassment man.

He needs a rest, that's all. There's no crime in saying this, as even Bruce has mentioned it. He scored today but offered precious little else. He's had a great season and will get better and better but needs a rest.

Half an hour ago on Twitter.

Bruce on his threat to rest Henderson: “Sometimes you throw a little sprat now & again. He trained as if to say please don’t leave me out."
