Obviously if they thought it was worth it they would, I guess they don’t. I think the club has earned our trust.

Its stubborn and its just looking at data on a spreadsheet. Speakers needs to get off excel and understand the human aspect to this potential signing. Look at henderson there at ajax man would be great to have him back
 
Thankfully our owners have more imagination that signing someone who’s had a good career (operative word is had) and used to play for us. He doesn’t fit the model or our new style. Not happening.

Not that I don't think he wouldn't be good enough, more that we've spent something like €70m on central midfielders so far and the club are big on having a pathway for young players.

It's a squad game and you need more than a starting XI (particularly when a fair few might be missing for AFCON) so that might be enough to convince him he'll play, who knows, but one thing for sure is that he wouldn't get any guarantees.
