Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Big question for me around whether he's still has the legs to play CM in the Premier League.

We've seen ex players come back in old age and struggle. Leadbitter, Defoe, Danny Graham...

The last two were losing their legs first time they played for us!

But you could say the same about Bould and Yorke, but they were still pivotal to keeping us up

For me, it's who else comes in with him.

Still think we're way off it in terms of power and pace in midfield. We'll need to hurry and disrupt the oppositions play, force mistakes. I hate to use the f#ckers as an example, but the mags workrate in CM is top notch for chasing that ball down and winning it back. Surprisingly, there's not many more teams put that much effort in because they try and piss about playing total football.

We need some players in with power, pace, and really solid workrate.

Personally, I don't see us a side who are going to press a lot like that and IMO it's the quickest way for a newly promoted side to go down with single digit points in the modern day PL.

IMO we'll sit in, let the opposition have the ball and look to counter.

A big thing with that style of play is we'll need to hold on to the ball when we get it and use it effectively.

Someone like Henderson would be ideal, to ensure the ball is used well and that we are not giving it straight back to the opposition so that it becomes the Alamo game after game.

Relax, Triantis, Eckwah and Matete are due back. Maybe Juve have converted Hemir into a tigerish midfielder as well.

Personally I’m not fussed either way. I don’t know if he’s got the legs for the premier league anymore however he’d be great for the young lads. If it happens it happens if not I wouldn’t lose sleep over it

Yorkie was canny in the championship as we were a winning team, his performance in the 7-1 at Goodison , inspite of scoring the goal, was a total humiliation for a player who'd achieved everything. Edit; I see he was hauled off at half-time immediately after scoring, for Dickson Etuhu.

He was quality in the home game against Arsenal when leadbitter scored

It’s easy to mock. It’s a decision I made myself and I feel happier as a result. The fact you don’t understand it and call it one of the craziest things you have ever seen written doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I can look at myself in the mirror knowing I’ve done the right thing.

Secondly, of course I realise that only a minority will do same, and that my actions (or non actions) alone will make no difference. That has happened many times in the past and I’m sure will happen in the future.

However, if everybody had a moral backbone and refused to buy a Tesla then Musk absolutely would lose sleep. Already the company is 13% down on sales and he will not be at all happy about that because of his ego. No coincidence he is moving away from the US government.
If only people would do the same for Chinese cars.

I thought he was on a free? And that he had an option to extend at Ajax another year. Why would we have to be in discussions with the club
