Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

I will never buy a Tesla!!! What a backbone you have! After Israel, Saudi Arabia is one of the most progressive nations in the Middle East. What’s your views on Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, - and how do you protest against these nations?
We can all make our own choices. We don’t have to be Greta Thunberg to make a difference or to feel happier in life with our choices.

You’ve got to understand the same people crying about him taking Saudi money would uproot their full family in an instant if they were ever offered the kind of money they offered Henderson.

But none of them have or ever will be in that position so they think they are clever preaching behind their computer screens.

Absolute sad fuckers
People condemning Hendo - it’s absolute arrogance. They must think they are something special

Can you please explain - how does not buying a Tesla make you happy?
I thought it would be obvious.

But OK. By not buying a Tesla I am not supporting one of the repulsive self-serving double act of clowns currently disgracing America.

Even if it turns only to be me that makes choices like that, I know I’ve done the right thing as a role model for my children.

People are genuinally mental like.

Henderson walks into our team, He’s currently captain of Ajax, a Sunderland lad who has won every major honour to win at domestic level.

Couldnt cherry pick a better yet realistic signing to come in and help us for what will be a very difficult season ahead.
This. Some of the comments man 😂

His legs are gone, he's past it, we can't afford passengers 😂

This is a bloke who's still getting picked for England who's never relied on pace 😂

He's the ultimate orchestra conductor. He sits and runs the show, organising, communicating, receiving the ball and immediately passing it on safely but with purpose. He does this in front of the defence, but also outside the oppo box.

The prospect doesn't excite me although he might offer some value on a short term contract.

That is a well written post and I shall give my position a lot more thought.

Tell you what would help though, if he did an interview and confirmed how much he regretted going there, regardless of whether or not he joins Sunderland.
He's done a few. The Athletic and NYT probably did the most in depth interviews that have been regurgitated in one form or another by quite a few media outlets.

But surely they are better than Joe Biden - who sleepwalked while war broke out n Israel, Ukraine and oversaw an absolute military shambles in Afghanistan! I’m not a big Trump fan but Biden was not fit for purpose!

Where did you get the term “sleepwalked” from? Sounds like the usual rubbish spouted on the Musk owned social media platform.

Borden’s administration supported Ukraine massively. Trump, and his arsehole bearded little helper, ambushed Zelensky live on TV in The White House. He is a disgrace to his country.

I genuinely can’t think of a worse American president.

Big question for me around whether he's still has the legs to play CM in the Premier League.

We've seen ex players come back in old age and struggle. Leadbitter, Defoe, Danny Graham...

As a caveat he's about 3 years younger than Defoe was and a better level player than Leadbitter. Not worth mentioning in the same sentence as the other one FFS.

What YOU don’t understand is that not everyone is money motivated.

Are you really incapable of knowing up front what you would do in a particular hypothetical situation? If that is true then fair enough. Please try to understand though that many (if not most) people are capable of doing so.

Are you really saying that you are so shallow that money drives every moral decision you make in life? And if that’s true you don’t see the irony in calling others who do have a moral backbone “sad bastards”? 😃

What we absolutely need to have next season are players who will look after the ball.

If you look at Soton, Ipswich and Leicester and the three the season below (most notably Luton) the number of goals conceded directly from losing possession or a poor touch in their box is frightening.

Southampton playing out from the back despite lacking the technical players to do so was insanity.

You have to have:
An almost perfect first touch now and have the football brain / awareness of what’s going on around you. Take a heavy touch near your box or misplace a pass in your own final third ( see jack Clarke vs Man City) and you might as well be taking a shot at your own keeper.

Which is why players like Le Fee, and hopefully Henderson will be invaluable. Not as ball winners, more ball retainers.

You've got to win the ball first, before you can look after it mate.

We'll need a midfield that can fight and contest every ball. We'll not be afforded the time to stroke it about on the occasion we are in possession. We'll need energy and some real grit to make sure we don't get walked all over.

My point is this. If you don’t want the club to sign Hendo just state footballing reasons. All this rubbish about him playing in Saudi is woke nonsense. He is free to play anywhere he wants. These wokies who try and look down on people who conduct their affairs with hard work need to take a look at themselves.

No different to some Mackem bloke working on the oil rigs out there
