Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Won 2 trophies as captain in his last season at Liverpool like. Hardly nowt.
What season was that? I’m sure they only won the community shield?
Are you serious? Just out of interest - did you ever play football?
Yes
Ridiculous, agenda ridden, load of nonsense
Agenda where? The middle of the park is our weakest area, I’m all for experience but not a player who’s been left behind with his first team output the last three seasons

I might be the year earlier actually.

I'd also be interested to hear from people who watch the Dutch league how he's done last season tbh. Ajax went from above 5th to 1 game away from winning the title. I don't watch the league to be able to comment.

If it’s the year I’m thinking of they had a bit of a stinker for their standards, missed out on CL, other comps out pretty early too

Has to be an agenda. He's captained a UCL team (15 games) who finished 1pt beging PSV in 2nd place in the league (28 games), scoring in the final game.

He followed his mentor Gerrard to Saudi and immediately realised it was a mistake and took a massive financial hit to turn his back.

Recalled to England squad.

He hasn't been poor by any metric.

Care to explain why YOU consider him to have done "nowt" in the last 3 seasons?

It’s not even close to being the same thing.

Jordan Henderson quickly realised his mistake, gave up hundreds of thousands and got out. He paid a big price not just in money terms, but reputation, lost his England place, lost a lot of respect, booed by his own country.

How long do you want the lad to face the consequences for? I assume you’ve never made a mistake, or if you have you don’t expect people to forgive you after years?

Completely incomparable to Newcastle who instead of holding there hands up, or realising there mistake, still insist there owners are lovely, and fully embrace there overlords by wearing tea towels and the Saudi colours.

It’s a lazy argument by people who are absolutely terrified of being compared to the mags.

He knew what he was doing when he left and threw away all he had previously stood for lets not just gloss over it.

He was already a rich man so didn't need the money, it was greed pure and simple that made him throw his morals out the window.

He's getting off lightly because he's a Mackem, he was happy to be involved in sportswashing.

I agree with this. But how far do you take it? Hes not the Saudi government and ultimately he's just an employee for the club. He hasn't killed anybody or committed any assaults.

You could argue Niall Quinn getting done for drink driving is worse than Henderson choosing to go to Saudi for the cash. But he's rightly seen as a legend of the club.

it's going a little over the top.

Ffs you’re completely missing the point. He HAS paid for it, he lost all the respect he built up over the years, he gave up a lot of money to get away, he lost his England place, got booed by fans who previously loved him.

He realised his mistake and got out. How long does he pay for it in your opinion, the rest of his life? Should never be associated with Sunderland or England again because he made a mistake?

There isn’t many if any saying he didn’t make a mistake, but he’s paid for it. I’ll ask again are you completely perfect, have you never made a mistake?

As a multi millionaire, why not come back and play for literally the bare legal minimum, and become a legend in the process
I'm with you on this, he made enough in Saudi surely.

We could always offer him the same contract that he had here before he left for Liverpool😂👍
